WHO ARE THESE GUYS?
Ever wonder just where our government gets all the data influencing existing drug policy? Okay, so you don’t. But do any of those polling calls you get at dinner ask your opinions on drug policy? Me either. But they have to be talking to someone, right? As wrongheaded as our drug policy is, it doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It begins at the National Drug Intelligence Center, an independent component inside our Department of Justice. Created during the Clinton administration, the NDIC issues an annual National Drug Threat Assessment, combining “foreign and domestic counter-drug intelligence and information on domestic drug trends in a single report.” Just the facts, ma’am… |
